Fifty Shades Of Grey Review (don’t ask)

I was told by a friend to review this one, I didn’t feel comfortable going to the cinema to see it so I went with some mates, what went down was the most awkward film I have sat through at the cinema. Fifty Shades Of Grey is based on the massively popular book by E.L James and it’s about a guy called Christian Grey a billionaire who is also a fan of snm (Sadism and masochism) basically he likes it rough, so a woman called Anatasia Steele goes to interview Mr Grey and after an awkward interview she leaves, but then develops a crush on him, he then turns up at the place where Anatasia works and asks for some cable ties and some tape, so after a few meetings we that Mr Grey doesn’t do romance like some people, and he shows Anastasia the infamous red room where Mr Grey keeps his toys.

Ms Steele goes home and gets an email from Mr Grey to do some research on submission and dominance and we see the results that come up (now I never knew what this stuff was and to be honest I wish I didn’t now) so Christian wants Anastasia to be his submissive while Mr grey is the dominate one, so again after a few meetings we see the infamous red room of pain in action, (and cue the most awkward and disturbing scene I have ever witnessed) now I won’t go in to too much detail about what happens here but for people who have read the books you can imagine.

So after a few dates Anastasia asks Christian what he would do if she was naughty, so he whips her with a belt numerous times, Anastasia decides that this isn’t the relationship for her and decides to break up with Christian thus ending the film. Oh boy, oh boy okay what did I think of this film, well I can’t say I enjoyed it I mean as awkward as it was, it was not very good this film is 100% a chick flick with out a shadow of a doubt, now what did I think of the characters, well Mr Grey was okay I mean you start to feel for him after we hear his past (he was a submissive at a very young age) I mean you feel really sorry for him, and Anastasia is just your typical girl in chick flicks, the calm shy college girl, but apart from the sex scenes you have got your standard run of the mill chick flick I would give this film a 2/10 mainly because it wasn’t my cup of tea (if you catch my drift) well now comes the dreaded question what did you think of the film? was it your cup of tea? Let me know, I would love to hear your opinion on this one but until next time catch ya later.
